Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure structural drawings and designs are completed on time, with high quality, and clarity.
Oversee the design process using technical expertise to achieve project objectives.
Collaborate with clients to align designs with their expectations and requirements.
Co-ordinate with project team /personnel for timely completion of project deadlines.
Review designs with a focus on health and safety standards.
Ensure timely availability of designs to relevant stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the design process.
Stay updated with evolving codes of practice relevant to the product and system.
Operate primarily in an office environment, with occasional site visits.
Demonstrate proficiency in engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.
Specialize in product design, modifications, material replacement, and conversions.
Excel in 2D and 3D modeling and assembly modeling.
Possess advanced working knowledge of CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, and ANSYS.
Engage in strategic planning to improve design processes.
Provide CAD support for production teams.
Optimize manufacturing costs by improving designs and liaising with the manufacturing department.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, AutoDesk Inventor, and ANSYS.
Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling and assembly modeling.
Familiarity with geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and design modifications.
Knowledge of design optimization for cost reduction and manufacturability.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
