Position: Fabric Checker / Quality Assurance (QA)
Location: Bengaluru – Peenya Industrial Area
Industry: Knits Garment Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming knitted fabrics as per approved quality standards and buyer specifications.
- Perform 4-Point Fabric Inspection System and record inspection results.
- Check fabric for defects such as holes, stains, oil marks, yarn contamination, knitting faults, barre, shade variation, slubs, GSM variation, width variation, skewness, bowing, and other visual defects.
- Verify fabric shade continuity and conduct shade band segregation before production.
- Measure and record GSM, width, shrinkage, and other fabric parameters as per quality requirements.
- Ensure only approved fabric lots are released for cutting and production.
- Coordinate with the Fabric Store, Cutting, Merchandising, and Production teams regarding fabric quality issues.
- Prepare fabric inspection reports and maintain quality records.
- Identify recurring fabric defects and communicate corrective actions to suppliers and internal teams.
- Assist during buyer or third-party fabric inspections whenever required.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and segregation of accepted, rejected, and hold fabric lots.
- Follow company SOPs, buyer standards, and quality procedures at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in fabric inspection or fabric quality assurance in a knit garment manufacturing unit.
- Good knowledge of knitted fabric types, construction, GSM, shrinkage, shade variation, and common fabric defects.
- Hands-on experience with the 4-Point Fabric Inspection System.
- Familiarity with buyer quality standards and fabric testing parameters.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Good observation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel) will be an added advantage.
