Position Summary
The Production Manager / Head of Production is responsible for managing the complete garment manufacturing process from sampling to final dispatch. The role ensures that every garment meets Torani's luxury quality standards while achieving production targets, controlling costs, and maintaining timely deliveries.
This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in luxury apparel manufacturing, vendor management, production planning, and coordination across Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Quality, and Logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans.
- Develop production calendars based on order priorities.
- Allocate work efficiently across all production units.
- Ensure timely completion of customer and retail orders.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and production bottlenecks.
2. End-to-End Production Management
Manage the complete production lifecycle including:
- Sampling
- Pattern Development
- Fabric Inspection
- Cutting
- Embroidery
- Printing
- Dyeing
- Stitching
- Washing (if applicable)
- Finishing
- Ironing
- Quality Inspection
- Packing
- Dispatch
Ensure seamless coordination between all departments throughout the production process.
3. Production Team Management
- Lead and supervise Production Executives, Supervisors, Line Leaders, Tailors, Finishers, and Helpers.
- Assign daily production targets.
- Conduct daily production meetings.
- Monitor employee productivity.
- Train and mentor production staff.
- Maintain discipline and operational efficiency.
4. Vendor & Factory Coordination
Coordinate with:
- Fabric Suppliers
- Embroidery Vendors
- Dyeing Units
- Printing Vendors
- Stitching Units
- Washing Units
- Trims Suppliers
- Packaging Vendors
- Job Workers
Ensure timely procurement and production support.
5. Quality Management
Ensure that every garment meets Torani's luxury quality standards.
Monitor:

Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and rejections.
6. Cost Control
- Monitor production costs.
- Reduce wastage of fabric and trims.

- Optimize manpower utilization.
- Control overtime expenses.
- Improve machine utilization.
- Maintain production within approved budgets.
7. Inventory & Material Management
Coordinate with Stores to ensure:
- Fabric availability
- Accessories availability
- Trims planning
- Production consumables
- Material issuance
- Stock reconciliation
- Production consumption reports
8. Process Improvement
- Develop and implement SOPs.
- Improve production workflows.
- Identify production bottlenecks.
- Introduce Lean Manufacturing practices where applicable.
- Improve line balancing and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Production Reporting & MIS
Prepare and submit:
- Daily Production Report
- Weekly Production Status
- Monthly Production MIS
- Order Tracking Report
- Delay Analysis

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Production Planning or Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in garment manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in luxury fashion, couture, designer wear, bridal wear, or premium apparel manufacturing is preferred.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
