Dingir Ventures Private Limited is a fast-growing energy and natural resources company specialized in mining operations, coal agglomeration, and clean energy solutions. Headquartered in Ranchi, Jharkhand, our core operations focus on open-cast and underground mining, advanced coal washing, crushing, sizing, and the manufacturing of high-efficiency solid fuel briquettes. We are looking for a resilient Mechanical Engineer to ensure maximum uptime of our heavy machinery and plant facilities.
Position Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer at Dingir Ventures, your primary domain will be the health, reliability, and maintenance of our heavy industrial assets. You will be responsible for both fixed plant assets (coal washeries, crushing units, high-pressure briquette presses) and heavy mobile machinery (HEMM). This role demands a blend of hands-on troubleshooting, predictive maintenance planning, and quick technical problem-solving to minimize costly production downtime in a high-wear, dusty, and rugged field environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties1. Plant Machinery Maintenance & Reliability
- Execute and oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of fixed plant machinery, including heavy-duty crushers, vibrating screens, pulverizers, and rotary dryers.
- Manage the upkeep of extensive bulk-material handling networks, including long-distance belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw feeders, and chocks.
- Troubleshoot and repair specialized hydraulic systems, high-pressure briquetting presses, pneumatic controls, and heavy gearboxes.
2. Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) Support
- Coordinate with field teams to monitor and maintain heavy mobile assets used in extraction and transport (such as excavators, front-end loaders, tippers, and dumpers).
- Ensure structural and mechanical integrity of all heavy fabrication units and field structures.
3. Breakdown Root-Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Lead the technical diagnosis of chronic equipment failures (e.g., conveyor belt misalignment, bearing failures due to dust ingress, gear wear).
- Implement engineering modifications to harden machinery against abrasive coal dust and moisture, extending the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
4. Inventory & Spare Parts Management
- Track and manage critical mechanical spares (bearings, rollers, seals, gear components, drive belts) to ensure zero delays during critical breakdowns.
- Draft detailed technical specifications for procurement teams to ensure replacement parts meet exact OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards.
5. Safety & Vendor Management
- Supervise mechanical fitters, fabricators, and external contractors during major plant shutdowns, ensuring strict adherence to industrial safety norms and DGMS guidelines.
- Perform regular structural safety audits on high-stress machinery elements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of core mechanical maintenance experience in heavy industries—specifically coal washeries, mineral processing plants, cement plants, steel mills, power plants, or active mining sites.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, heavy gearboxes, alignment techniques, and industrial lubrication.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, blue-prints, and hydraulic schematics.
- Familiarity with welding, heavy fabrication, and structural repair protocols.
- Soft Skills: Clear leadership style to manage ground-level technicians/fitters; strong analytical mind for diagnostics; comfortable working in field environments (exposure to dust, heat, and heavy machinery noise).
What We Offer
- The opportunity to own and manage large-scale mechanical systems in a rapidly expanding resource company.
- Competitive salary package aligned with heavy engineering benchmarks.
- Direct experience with advanced clean energy deployment and material processing technologies.
