Systems Engineer:
We are looking for highly skilled, self-motivated, exceptional systems engineers to help us scale our organization and our infrastructure in support of a rapidly growing business. This position will be part of our Systems Operations team, focused specifically on operations like troubleshooting hardware and performance issues, improving Operations teams efficiency by identifying gaps and deploying tools to improve the manageability and supportability of the production, staging, reporting, and corporate environments and running configuration management and automation services. The individual hired for this role should have experience in centralized configuration management, and a dependable Linux expert.
Responsibilities:
- Handle operations tickets related to Server hardware/OS troubleshooting and tuning etc from the jira queue
- Maintain documentation for the team to use when updating policies, responding to pages, building new sites, etc.
- Monitor infrastructure services, deploy and maintain relevant monitoring tools.
- Work as a part of the team to deploy configuration management policies
- 24/7 emergency response participate in on-call rotation.
- Be resourceful and innovative at tackling complex challenges in a timely manner.
- Be flexible and adaptable to switch gears in various high-stress situations and apply themselves to quickly learning new technologies and adopting new methodologies.
- Be a results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds self-accountable for performance, takes absolute ownership, and champions all aspects of customer and product initiatives.
- Be a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation
Basic Qualifications:
- B.E/B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Linux administration expert knowledge including kernel tuning and hardware diagnostics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including application, OS and network layers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 or 5+ years in a Unix environment (Linux preferred).
- Experience using Git (preferred) or Subversion with Review Board or similar tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Linux troubleshooting
- Boot problems (ramfs/initrd, systemd, grub etc.)
- SSH (knowhow, error situations etc.)
- Disk (raid and performance, disk full, logs etc.)
- Memory (OOM situation, swapping etc.)
- CPU (high load/utilization and recovery)
- Network (system level network problems and fixes, monitoring, tcp and udp, connectivity troubleshooting)
- Scripting skills (preferrable Python)
- Process Management (process interactions, states, signals etc.)
- Memory Management (vm, res, swap, diskcaches etc.)
- Basic Network management, network services and protocols (DNS, DHCP, PXE, SYSLOG)
- Exposure to incident management processes
Nice to have:
- TLS/SSL fundamentals
- Scripting skills (preferrable Python)
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
