Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sewing Machine Mechanic to handle the maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of sewing machines used in garment manufacturing. The candidate should have good knowledge of different types of industrial sewing machines and be able to minimize machine breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and servicing of industrial sewing machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine breakdowns and technical issues.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Repair and replace defective or worn-out machine parts.
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure machines are properly set and ready for production.
- Identify recurring machine problems and take corrective action.
- Maintain records of machine maintenance, breakdowns, and repairs.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve machine-related issues quickly.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and spare parts.
- Follow safety procedures and company maintenance standards.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of industrial sewing machines and their mechanisms.
- Experience in machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Knowledge of machine timing, tension, needle, feed, and other adjustments.
- Ability to identify mechanical faults and rectify them effectively.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under production pressure and meet maintenance requirements.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related trade preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in sewing machine maintenance, preferably in the garment manufacturing industry.
- Experience with various industrial sewing machines will be an added advantage.
