Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and management of medical equipment used throughout the hospital. The role ensures all biomedical devices function safely and efficiently to support quality patient care and uninterrupted hospital operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Support
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of medical equipment.
- Install, inspect, test, and calibrate biomedical devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment faults promptly.
- Maintain equipment performance and safety standards.
Medical Equipment Handling
Maintain and support equipment including:
- ICU monitors
- Ventilators
- Defibrillators
- ECG machines
- Syringe and infusion pumps
- OT and anesthesia machines
- X-ray, ultrasound, CT, and MRI systems
- Cath Lab equipment
- Laboratory analyzers
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
- Ensure compliance with NABH/JCI standards and hospital policies.
- Monitor annual maintenance contracts (AMC/CMC).
- Prepare reports related to equipment downtime and servicing.
Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, technicians, and vendors.
- Assist procurement team in technical evaluation of new equipment.
- Train hospital staff on safe equipment operation.
- Support biomedical audits and inspections.
Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure electrical and operational safety of equipment.
- Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics Engineering
- Diploma in Biomedical Engineering may be considered for junior roles
- Knowledge of hospital medical equipment systems
Experience
- 2–5 years of hospital biomedical engineering experience preferred
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals is an advantage

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
