Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all road construction activities such as WBM (Water Bound Macadam), CC (Cement Concrete) roads, excavation, and backfilling are executed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements. The role includes site inspections, material testing, documentation, and coordination with site engineers and consultants.
Key Responsibilities1. Quality Control & Inspection
- Conduct routine quality inspections for:
- Excavation works
- Subgrade preparation
- WBM layers
- CC road works
- Backfilling and compaction
- Ensure work execution complies with:
- Approved drawings
- IS codes
- Project specifications
- Method statements
2. Material Testing & MonitoringFor WBM Works
- Check:
- Aggregate gradation
- Flakiness & elongation index
- Water absorption
- Impact and crushing values
- Monitor:
- Layer thickness
- Proper rolling and compaction
- Moisture content
For CC Road Works
- Verify:
- Cement quality
- Aggregate quality
- Concrete mix design
- Slump test
- Cube casting and compressive strength
- Ensure proper:
- Leveling
- Joint cutting
- Finishing
- Curing
For Excavation & Backfilling
- Inspect:
- Excavation dimensions and levels
- Safe slope and shoring
- Soil suitability for backfilling
- Monitor:
- Layer-wise backfilling
- Compaction tests (FDT/core cutter)
- Moisture conditioning
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain:
- Inspection requests (IR)
- Material approval records
- Test reports
- Daily quality reports
- Checklists and QA/QC documentation
- Prepare and submit:
- Concrete cube reports
- Compaction reports
- Field density test reports
- Non-conformance reports (NCR)
- Coordinate with consultant/client for inspections and approvals.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
