Mechanical Engineer / Junior Mechanical Engineer – Drones & Robotics
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support the mechanical systems and structures for drones, robotics, and IoT hardware products.
- Work on 3D design, mechanical assemblies, structural parts, enclosures, frames, mounts, and product integration for drone and robotic systems.
- Support the fabrication, prototyping, assembly, and testing of drone and robotics platforms.
- Select suitable materials, fasteners, bearings, motors, mechanical linkages, and structural components based on application needs.
- Prepare CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation for production and prototyping.
- Collaborate with electronics, embedded, and software teams to ensure smooth integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Perform mechanical testing, fitment checks, vibration analysis, weight optimization, and structural improvements for better performance and reliability.
- Support manufacturing processes, vendor coordination, fabrication follow-up, and product assembly improvements.
- Troubleshoot and improve existing mechanical designs for strength, durability, ease of manufacturing, and field reliability.
- Contribute to new product development from concept to prototype to final production.
Requirements
- 0–3+ years of experience in mechanical design, product development, fabrication, or related engineering work.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing methods, and product assembly.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with sheet metal design, CNC parts, 3D printing, fabrication, laser cutting, and structural designis a plus.
- Interest or experience in drones, robotics, automation systems, or electromechanical products.
- Ability to work on prototype development, mechanical assembly, and design validation.
- Good understanding of materials, tolerances, mechanical fitments, and manufacturing constraints.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to work in a fast-paced hardware R&D environment.
- Basic knowledge of motors, actuators, mechanical transmission systems, and product integration is an advantage.
