Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspections: Examine metal surfaces, settings, and gemstones at various stages of production (casting, polishing, setting).
- Specification Verification: Ensure products match CAD drawings, design measurements, and weight specifications.
- Defect Management: Identify and flag flaws such as loose stones, improper polish, asymmetry, or porous metal.
- Material Testing: Verify gold/platinum purity and authenticate diamonds and colored gemstones.
- Documentation: Maintain logs of passed/failed items, prepare reports, and tag approved merchandise.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with jewelers, casters, and production managers to resolve ongoing quality issues. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Essential Requirements
- Industry Experience: Proven background in jewellery manufacturing, diamond grading, or metallurgy.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with precision measurement tools (e.g., Vernier calipers, micrometers) and magnification instruments.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent eyesight and a high sense of aesthetics and precision.
- Education: Certifications from recognized gemological institutes (e.g., GIA, IGI) or a diploma in jewellery manufacturing is highly desire
