Role Summary
This position requires an experienced Level 3 Systems Engineer to provide expert-level technical support, infrastructure management, and escalation services across complex client environments. Working remotely as part of a distributed operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, storage, backup solutions, and enterprise networking. You will also serve as the highest technical escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 engineers, driving root cause analysis, automation, and long-term infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve escalated issues related to servers, storage, and virtualization from Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
- Standardize and optimize server and infrastructure configurations across customer environments.
- Configure and maintain Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP, NTFS permissions, Group Policy, and backup solutions.
- Manage VMware, Hyper-V, NSX, clustering, HA, and virtual networking.
- Administer storage systems including LUN/Datastore creation, iSCSI connections, and host mapping.
- Document SOPs, configuration baselines, and architecture blueprints.
- Collaborate with network and security teams.
- Automate provisioning, patching, and monitoring where possible.
- Support Tiger Team projects and other assigned initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with ConnectWise, Windows Server, Active Directory, DFS, DNS, DHCP, NTFS permissions, and Group Policy.
- Expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, NSX, and virtual networking.
- Experience with storage systems, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for servers, storage, and virtualization.
- Experience in MSP or multi-client data centre environments.
- VCP, MCSE, RHCE, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
- Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in high-demand environments.
