Key Responsibilities of Production Engineer1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production activities as per project schedules.
- Ensure smooth execution of fabrication work according to approved drawings and production targets.
- Coordinate with design, QA/QC, stores, and dispatch departments for uninterrupted workflow.
- Monitor production progress and achieve delivery timelines.
2. Fabrication Supervision
- Supervise fabrication activities such as:
- Cutting
- Welding
- Drilling
- Grinding
- Fit-up
- Assembly
- Plate and structural fabrication
- Ensure fabrication is carried out as per approved drawings, WPS, and client specifications.
- Monitor dimensional accuracy and fitment quality.
3. Manpower Management
- Allocate work to supervisors, welders, fitters, helpers, and machine operators.
- Monitor manpower productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain discipline and proper shift management on the shop floor.
- Ensure availability of skilled manpower for production activities.
4. Machine & Equipment Coordination
- Ensure proper utilization of fabrication machines and equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of machines to avoid production breakdowns.
- Monitor usage of:
- CNC/Plasma cutting machines
- Welding machines
- Gas cutting sets
- EOT cranes
- Rolling and drilling machines
5. Quality Control Coordination
- Coordinate with QA/QC department for inspection activities.
- Ensure rejection, rework, and fabrication defects are minimized.
- Maintain production quality as per RDSO/client standards and approved drawings.
- Support internal and client inspections.
6. Material Planning & Control
- Coordinate with stores for raw material availability.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce wastage.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials.
- Maintain stock coordination for plates, sections, fasteners, and consumables.
7. Production Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Daily Production Reports (DPR)
- Shift reports
- Material consumption records
- Production planning sheets
- Rework reports
- Productivity reports
- Update management regarding production status and delays.
8. Safety Compliance
- Ensure safe working practices in fabrication areas.
- Follow factory safety rules and PPE compliance.
- Coordinate with safety department during lifting, welding, gas cutting, and crane operations.
- Prevent unsafe activities and accidents on the shop floor.
9. Coordination with Departments
- Coordinate with:
- Design Department
- Purchase Department
- QA/QC Department
- Safety Department
- Dispatch Department
- Project Team
- Resolve production-related issues quickly for smooth operations.
10. Productivity & Process Improvement
- Identify methods to improve production efficiency.
- Reduce production delays, wastage, and idle time.
- Implement continuous improvement practices in fabrication processes.
- Support cost reduction and better resource utilization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹32,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
