The Mother Teacher plays a vital role in the early development of children by acting as both a guide and caregiver in a classroom setting. She fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth of young learners, primarily in pre-primary or primary classes (Nursery to Grade 2). The aim is to provide continuity, comfort, and care by having one main teacher handle most subjects for a single class.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary caregiver and educator for the assigned class.
- Plan and deliver lessons across subjects such as English, Math, Environmental Studies, and Art & Craft, following the curriculum guidelines.
- Create a warm and secure classroom environment that supports student learning and emotional development.
- Monitor and track the progress of each child and provide individual attention where needed.
- Encourage positive behavior and social interaction among students.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Maintain proper records of student attendance, progress reports, and classroom activities.
- Decorate and organize the classroom to be engaging and child-friendly.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to gauge student understanding and plan remedial actions.
- Participate in school events, workshops, and professional development sessions.
