Job Summary
The Lab Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic tests on patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) to assist doctors in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities Collect, label, and process patient samples Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests Operate and maintain laboratory equipment Record and analyze test results accurately Prepare reports and communicate findings to doctors Ensure proper sterilization and cleanliness of lab equipment Follow hospital safety and infection control protocols Maintain inventory of lab supplies and reagents Assist in quality control procedures Required
Qualifications
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT) Valid certification or registration (as per local regulations) Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail Good analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of safety and hygiene standards Basic computer skills for reporting and data entry
