PROCESS SAFETY ENGINEER
Location: Vadodara (Preferred) / Chennai (for exceptional candidates)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to support major capital projects across the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, FPSO, and Chemical sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing process safety strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with international engineering and safety standards throughout Concept, FEED, and EPC project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Process Safety Concepts and Safety Design Basis documents.
- Perform HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, Bow-Tie Analysis, QRA, Dispersion Studies, and related risk assessments.
- Conduct Process Safety Audits and Process Hazard Reviews.
- Perform PSV sizing, scenario evaluations, flare network calculations, and relief system analysis.
- Prepare Hazardous Area Classification Schedules and Drawings.
- Develop Safety Philosophies, Emergency Response Plans, and Risk Assessment Reports.
- Support Process Optimization Studies and Process Simulation Modeling using Aspen HYSYS and similar tools.
- Review engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and safety-related documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
- Support site surveys, pre-commissioning activities, technical audits, and quality reviews.
- Interface with licensors, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, FPSO, or Chemical projects.
- Hands-on experience in process safety studies and risk assessment methodologies.
- Expertise in PSV sizing, flare system design, and process safety calculations.
- Experience with Hazardous Area Classification.
- Knowledge of offshore production facilities, high-pressure gas systems, oil/water/gas separation systems, LPG/LNG storage and treatment.
- Familiarity with international standards such as:
- API
- NFPA
- ASME
- NORSOK
- DNVGL
- BS/EN
- Proficiency in:
- Aspen HYSYS
- PHAST
- PHAWorks
- FlareNet
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 8–15 years of relevant industry experience.
