The Technologist is responsible for ensuring that seafood products meet quality, food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements throughout processing, packaging, storage, and export. The role supports production efficiency, product development, compliance with international standards, and continuous process improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Food Safety/ EIA APPROVED TECHNOLOGIST
- Monitor seafood processing operations to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain HACCP, BRC, BAP, and sanitation programs.
- Conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Technical Operations
- Monitor processing parameters such as temperature, freezing, glazing, packaging, and storage conditions.
- Validate production processes to maintain product quality and shelf life.
- Support equipment validation and process optimization initiatives.
- Assist in developing new seafood products and improving existing products.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and customer specifications.
- Maintain documentation required for audits and certifications.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and certification bodies during inspections.
- Keep updated with international food safety regulations and industry best practices.
Laboratory & Testing
- Coordinate microbiological, chemical, and sensory testing.
- Review laboratory reports and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Ensure sampling procedures comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain technical records, quality reports, and production documentation.
- Prepare technical reports, trend analyses, and performance metrics.
- Support customer audits and third-party certification audits.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Train production personnel on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Participate in internal audits and improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Fisheries Technology, Seafood Technology, Food Science, Marine Biology, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in seafood processing, food manufacturing, or seafood export operations.
- Experience in export-oriented seafood processing facilities is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of seafood processing technologies.
- Good understanding of HACCP, BRC, BAP and food safety management systems.
- Knowledge of seafood export regulations and international customer requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: ₹11,846.61 - ₹57,666.39 per month
