Role: Senior Product Manager / Lead Business Analyst (Collections Tech)
Experience: 7–10 Years
Location: Bangalore
We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager/Business Analyst who will act as the bridge between our Collections Business Team and the Engineering Team. You will be the sole custodian of the Collections Product suite, responsible for streamlining the collections team experience across tools facilitating Digital, Telecalling, Field, and Legal Flows.
We need a self-starter who can navigate the complexities of debt recovery, understand the nuances of the "bucket" system (SMA/NPA), and work with Saas Platforms and Stakeholders to build scalable tech solutions with zero supervision.
Must-Have
- 6–10 years of experience in Product Management or Business Analysis, specifically within Fintech, NBFC, or Retail Banking.
- Collections Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the collections lifecycle from early delinquency (Soft Collections) to hard recoveries, legal workflows, and settlement processes.
- Independent Execution: Proven track record of taking a project from "vague idea" to "final launch" without requiring day-to-day supervision.
- Dunning & Communication Tech: Experience building or optimizing automated dunning systems (SMS, WhatsApp, IVR, Voice-bots) and managing integration with Cloud Telephony (dialers).
- Field Force Automation: Experience designing tools for field collection agents, including geo-tagging, digital receipts, and real-time visit tracking.
- Settlement & Waiver Logic: Strong grasp of the math behind settlements, penal interest waivers, and the impact of these actions on the General Ledger (GL) and NPA classification.
- Regulatory Compliance: Thorough knowledge of RBI’s Fair Practice Code (FPC), outsourcing guidelines for recovery agents, and data privacy norms.
- Technical Documentation: Excellence in writing detailed PRDs, BRDs, User Stories, and process flowcharts that require minimal back-and-forth with developers.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage expectations and push back on the business team (Collections Heads/Legal) when necessary to ensure product scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy: Own the roadmap for the Collections CRM and Agency Management Systems (AMS).
- Feature Streamlining: Identify bottlenecks in the current tools used by the collections team and re-engineer them for better Efficiency (Reach Rate) and Efficacy (Resolution Rate).
- Payment Integrations: Optimize repayment links, BBPS integrations, and "Easy Pay" features to reduce friction for delinquent customers.
- Legal Tech: Build modules to automate the legal notice lifecycle (Section 138, Sarfaesi, etc.) and integrate with external legal vendors.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use SQL and data visualization tools to monitor "Collection Efficiency" and "Roll-back" rates to iterate on product features.
- UAT & Quality: Take end-to-end responsibility for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that accounting entries and recovery logic are 100% accurate before going live.
Good-to-Have / Added Advantage
- Prior experience in a high-growth NBFC
- Familiarity with Loan Management Systems (LMS)
- Advanced SQL Knowledge: Ability to write complex queries to audit collection data and identify leakages.
Behavioral Traits
- Ownership Mindset: You don’t wait for instructions; you identify the problem and solve it.
- Resilience: Collections is a tough business; you need to be comfortable working with operational teams in a high-pressure environment.
- Attention to Detail: In debt recovery, a 1% error in interest calculation can have massive regulatory and financial implications.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the "big picture" of how collections tech impacts the company’s bottom line and P&L.
