Job Title: Accountant (Import-Export & GST Compliance)

Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate books of accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
Additionally, the role requires strong knowledge of import-export accounting, including documentation, taxation, and compliance related to international trade.
Key ResponsibilitiesDay-to-Day Accounting
- Record and reconcile sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries in accounting software (Tally, Zoho, etc.)
- Handle petty cash and perform bank reconciliations
GST & TDS Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)
- Manage TDS deductions, payments, and return filings
Invoicing & Billing
- Generate sales invoices and ensure timely collections
- Coordinate with vendors and customers for payment follow-ups
Inventory & Ledger Management
- Maintain stock entries, adjustments, and inventory reports
- Reconcile party ledgers, supplier balances, and customer accounts
Import-Export Accounting & Compliance
- Handle accounting for import and export transactions
- Maintain documentation for imports (Bill of Entry, customs duty, IGST, freight, etc.)
- Manage export documentation (Export invoices, LUT, shipping bills, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with GST on exports (zero-rated supply, refunds, etc.)
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners
- Track foreign currency transactions and manage exchange rate differences
- Assist in DGFT, IEC-related compliance and reporting
Monthly & Annual Reports
- Assist in preparing P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Support audits and financial year closing processes
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and updated financial records
- Ensure timely statutory filings and coordination with CA or consultants
RequirementsEducational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- Preference for CA Inter / Tally-certified candidates
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and accounting software
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian tax laws
- Understanding of inventory and costing principles
- Knowledge of import-export accounting and documentation
Soft Skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
