Full job description
The Fashion Designer will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and developing collections for women's Ethnic wear, co-ord sets, western wear, and contemporary occasion wear. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of garment construction, innovative silhouettes, embroidery techniques, fabric behavior, and production feasibility.
This role requires someone who can balance creativity with practicality and transform design concepts into commercially viable products.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Collection Development
- Research global and Indian fashion trends, emerging silhouettes, and consumer preferences.
- Develop seasonal collections, capsules, and new product concepts aligned with the VredeVogel aesthetic.
- Create mood boards, colour stories, design themes, and collection directions.
- Design innovative and distinctive silhouettes for women's apparel, including:
- Co-ord Sets
- Tops & Tunics
- Shirts
- Dresses
- Women Ethinc wear
- Fusion Wear
- Relaxed Luxury Wear
Technical Development
- Create detailed design sketches and technical flats.
- Develop comprehensive tech packs with measurements, construction details, trims, and finishing instructions.
- Collaborate with pattern masters, sampling units, digital printers, and production teams.
- Review samples and suggest corrections to improve fit, finish, and functionality.
Fabric & Surface Development
- Recommend suitable fabrics based on silhouette, drape, season, and cost targets.
Possess knowledge of
- Embroidery techniques
- Surface ornamentation
- Print placements
- Textures and fabric manipulations
- Stitch detailing and garment finishing
Garment Construction Expertise
Strong understanding of:
- Different stitching methods and seam finishes
- Tucks, pleats, gathers, ruching, smocking, and draping techniques
- Contemporary construction details
- Fit and grading principles
- Production-friendly design adaptations
Pay: ₹15k to 25k per month
