Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control & Assurance
- Develop and implement quality control procedures for raw materials.
- Monitor in-process quality during all production stages.
- Ensure final product meets specifications.
2. Inspection & Testing
Conduct tests such as:
- Testing
- Thickness and weight measurement
- Color fastness and visual inspection
- Maintain inspection records and quality reports.
- Coordinate and conduct inspection with external inspector to meet shipment date.
3. Process Improvement
- Identify defects.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work with production team to reduce rejection,wastage and rework.
4. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and export standards.
- Implement quality systems like ISO 9001.
- Maintain documentation and audit readiness.
5. Team Management
- Train and supervise quality inspectors.
- Set quality benchmarks and KPIs.
- Conduct regular quality meetings with production staff.
6. Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate and approve raw material suppliers.
- Conduct incoming material inspections.
- Handle supplier quality issues.
7. Customer Handling
- Address customer complaints and feedback.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent quality.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality processes
- Understanding of PVC and coir materials
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Leadership and team management
- Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, root cause analysis, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Textile, or related field
- 8-10years of experience in quality management (preferably in mats, textiles, rubber, or PVC products)
KPIs (Performance Indicators)
- Reduction in defect rate (%)
- Customer complaint rate
- Rejection and rework levels
- On-time quality inspections
- Supplier quality performance
- Experience in export quality standards
- Knowledge of ERP / quality reporting systems.
- Handling external QC inspectors.
