As an Associate Editor, you will play a key role in supporting Journal Editors and Editorial Board Members (EBMs) to ensure rapid and high-quality peer review , and publication. You will support content delivery by managing peer review for specific manuscripts across our journals and making editorial decisions. Success in this role requires strong time management skills, broad scientific knowledge, and a commitment to excellence in editorial practices. Key performance indicators include fast turnaround times, rigorous peer review standards, and exceptional service to authors, reviewers, and EBMs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about science and looking to launch a career in academic publishing. The position is full-time and based out of our Pune office, with a hybrid working arrangement.
Assess manuscripts for compliance with journal policies and editorial thresholds, demonstrating scientific comprehension, critical scientific evaluation, and manuscript assessment skills to determine suitability for peer review.
Provide manuscript consultation and editorial support as required to Assistant Editors, Journal Owners and Editorial Board Members, demonstrating collaboration, interpersonal awareness, and effective communication.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support journal development, publishing workflows, operational improvements, and ad hoc projects.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Ability to work effectively within a cross-journal team, demonstrating collaboration, effective communication, interpersonal awareness, and a willingness to support shared objectives .
Thorough understanding of the scientific research community, the peer review process, and the needs of researchers, reviewers, and editors.
Highly self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, and achievement-oriented, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, workload management, and organizational skills, with a commitment to operational excellence.
