Job Summary
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, streamline production workflows, manage resource allocation, and ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exact technical specifications.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in mechanical/industrial engineering, robust leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management: Plan, organize, and direct the daily manufacturing and production schedules to ensure maximum machine utilization and workflow efficiency.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure all finished products adhere to engineering blueprints, tolerances, and client standards.
Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in the production line and implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and lower operational costs.
Resource & Inventory Planning: Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) and coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials and components are available to meet production goals.
Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance for workshop machinery and tooling to minimize unexpected downtime.
Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations (OSHA/local industrial standards) and maintain a clean, organized shop floor (5S practices).
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Familiarity with CNC machining, fabrication, or precision assembly workflows.
Experience utilizing ERP/MRP software for production tracking.
Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to handle high-pressure deadlines and manage shifting priorities seamlessly.
Certifications (Preferred): Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a strong plus.
