About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior Software Tester with around 1 year of hands-on experience in software testing. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of manual and automated testing, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for ensuring software quality across web and mobile applications built using JavaScript frameworks and Laravel (PHP).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on project requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and basic unit testing for web and mobile applications.
- Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Jest, Cypress, PHPUnit, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
- Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools such as JIRA, Trello, or GitHub Issues.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure application stability.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product teams to understand requirements and improve software quality.
- Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Support CI/CD testing activities and deployment validations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 1 year of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Basic knowledge of software testing concepts, SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Mocha, or Jasmine.
- Basic understanding of Laravel testing using PHPUnit.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Understanding of database testing using MySQL or similar databases.
- Exposure to browser automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
