A Store Keeper manages inventory, receives incoming shipments, maintains accurate stock records, and ensures smooth logistics within a warehouse or storeroom.
Core Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock counts, perform audits, track stock levels, and flag low-stock items for reordering.
- Receiving & Inspection: Unload incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and verify invoices against purchase orders.
- Storage & Organization: Label, organize, and store materials systematically to optimize space and allow quick access.
- Issuance & Dispatch: Issue stock based on approved requests, package outgoing shipments, and ensure accurate record-keeping for all movements.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure storage area following occupational safety guidelines.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or logistics certification is a plus.
- Experience: 1–3 years in inventory, warehouse, or storekeeping roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Inventory Management Software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Excel) and barcode scanners.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift heavy packages (typically 20–50 lbs) and operate machinery like forklifts (if required).
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and clear communication.
