About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced PV Designer with strong expertise in US Residential Solar projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience creating permit-ready solar plan sets and a strong understanding of US permitting standards, solar design workflows, and residential PV system design.
This role is ideal for professionals who can independently own project execution, maintain design accuracy, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop residential solar PV systems for US-based projects
- Create complete permit-ready solar plan sets including:
- PV Layout
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Electrical Details
- General Notes aligned with AHJ requirements
- Perform:
- Shading analysis
- System sizing
- Production estimation
- Ensure compliance with:
- NEC guidelines
- Utility requirements
- Local AHJ standards
- Coordinate with engineering, permitting, and operations teams
- Review and revise solar designs based on utility and AHJ feedback
- Deliver accurate designs within project timelines
Mandatory Skills
✔ Minimum 1+ year of experience in US Residential Solar Design
✔ Strong hands-on experience in:
✔ Experience creating complete PV Plan Sets (not proposal-only profiles)
✔ Strong understanding of:
- NEC fundamentals
- Fire setback requirements
- Load calculations
- Shading analysis
✔ Exposure to US solar permitting processes and utility coordination
Preferred Skills
- Experience with:
- Helioscope
- PVsyst
- OpenSolar
- Sighten
- Experience in Battery Storage Design (Enphase / ESS)
- Exposure to:
- QA / Design Validation
- Permit Review
- Solar EPC workflows
