Job Summary
The Gynecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and surgical care related to women's reproductive health, pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecological disorders. The consultant will diagnose, treat, and manage patients in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, labor room, and operation theatre settings while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
- Conduct outpatient consultations and evaluate patients with gynecological and obstetric conditions.
- Diagnose and manage disorders of the female reproductive system.
- Provide antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care to pregnant women.
- Monitor high-risk pregnancies and coordinate multidisciplinary care when required.
- Manage normal and complicated labor and deliveries.
- Perform cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures as indicated.
- Provide family planning and contraceptive counseling.
- Diagnose and treat infertility-related conditions and menstrual disorders.
- Manage gynecological emergencies and obstetric complications.
Surgical Responsibilities
- Perform gynecological surgeries such as:
- Hysterectomy
- Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
- Tubectomy
- Ovarian cyst surgeries
- Laparoscopic gynecological procedures
- Other gynecological and obstetric surgeries within the scope of practice.
- Ensure proper pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
- Maintain detailed surgical records and operative notes.
Patient Education & Counseling
- Educate patients regarding reproductive health, pregnancy care, and disease prevention.
- Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options and outcomes.
- Promote women's health awareness and preventive healthcare programs.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Complete discharge summaries, medical reports, and certificates.
- Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and NABH compliance activities.
Emergency & On-Call Duties
- Attend obstetric and gynecological emergencies as required.
- Provide on-call support for labor room, operation theatre, and emergency cases.
- Coordinate with anesthetists, pediatricians, and other specialists during emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Valid registration with the appropriate Medical Council.
Experience
- Minimum 1–5 years of post-specialization experience preferred.
- Freshly qualified specialists may be considered as per hospital requirements.

Pay: ₹50,057.40 - ₹175,177.02 per month
