Job Summary:
The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. The technician performs scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Carry out repairs and replacement of defective parts and components.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacement, brake servicing, and wheel alignment.
- Conduct engine, transmission, suspension, steering, and electrical system repairs.
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify service quality.
- Maintain accurate job cards, repair records, and service reports.
- Ensure tools and workshop equipment are used and maintained properly.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding repair status and additional work requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Attend technical training programs to enhance product and service knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certification in automotive repair and maintenance is preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in an automobile workshop/service center.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners and workshop tools.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
