Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and experienced Nursery / KG Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children using Montessori principles. You will guide children in their early learning journey while fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate Montessori-based activities and lessons in areas such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural subjects.
- Create a prepared classroom environment with Montessori materials that encourages exploration, independence, and concentration.
- Observe each child’s progress and maintain detailed records of developmental milestones, interests, and needs.
- Foster social-emotional growth by teaching conflict resolution, empathy, sharing, and respectful communication.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and assistants to ensure smooth classroom management and individualized attention.
- Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, progress reports, and daily updates to build strong home-school partnerships.
- Organize and participate in school events, field trips, celebrations, and parent workshops.
- Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of all children at all times.
- Work in alignment with the school’s Montessori philosophy and NEP guidelines.
- Participate in professional development sessions and staff meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Montessori certification (AMI/AMS or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of teaching experience in Nursery / KG / Pre-Primary, preferably in a Montessori or progressive school setting.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of child development (ages 3–6).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (Tamil knowledge is an added advantage).
- Patience, creativity, warmth, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to manage a classroom with mixed-age groups and diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in using Montessori materials and activity-based learning methods.
