Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machines, conventional machines, non-conventional machines, portable equipment, and utility systems. The role ensures maximum machine availability, minimum downtime, and smooth production operations through effective preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of CNC machines.
- Carry out maintenance of conventional machines such as Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Grinding, and Radial Drilling Machines.
- Maintain non-conventional and special-purpose machines used in manufacturing operations.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements for reliability and productivity.
Utility Maintenance
- Maintain air compressors, pumps, cooling systems, utility pipelines, and other plant utility equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of utilities required for manufacturing activities.
- Monitor utility equipment performance and conduct routine inspections.
Portable Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect, maintain, and repair portable machinery and tools including welding machines, grinders, cutting machines, drilling machines, and other power tools.
- Ensure all portable equipment is maintained in safe and operational condition.
Preventive Maintenance
- Prepare and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct periodic inspections and condition monitoring of machinery.
- Maintain machine service records and maintenance history.
- Ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment operation promptly.
- Coordinate with production teams to reduce machine downtime.
Spare Parts Management
- Monitor inventory of critical spare parts and consumables.
- Raise material requisitions for maintenance requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and utilization of spare parts.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety procedures during maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance standards, operational controls, and housekeeping requirements.
- Support implementation of 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily maintenance reports, machine history cards, and inspection records.
- Record equipment downtime and analyze maintenance performance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance reports.
- Update maintenance activities in ERP or maintenance management systems.
Qualification Requirements Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME).
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in maintenance of CNC machines, conventional machines, portable machinery, and industrial utility systems.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
