Job Summary
The Service Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems. The role involves providing technical support to customers, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through effective field service operations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install, test, and commission mechanical equipment and machinery at customer sites.
- Ensure equipment operates according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct performance testing and prepare commissioning reports.
- Provide operational training to customers and end-users.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Repair or replace defective components and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Minimize equipment downtime through timely service interventions.
Field Service Operations
- Attend service calls and customer complaints within agreed response times.
- Conduct site inspections and equipment condition assessments.
- Prepare detailed service reports and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance to customers regarding operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Support sales and application teams with technical expertise.
- Recommend upgrades, modifications, and service solutions to improve equipment performance.
- Assist in warranty claim evaluations and service-related investigations.
Spare Parts & Inventory Coordination
- Identify spare parts requirements and coordinate procurement.
- Maintain records of spare parts usage and service materials.
- Support inventory planning for critical service components.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety procedures and customer site safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical engineering standards and operational guidelines.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in service engineering, maintenance, commissioning, or field service operations.
- Experience with industrial equipment, machinery, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, manufacturing equipment, or similar mechanical systems preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
