Job Summary
A Branch Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations, business performance, and profitability of a transport/logistics branch. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, customer management, and business development skills to ensure smooth and efficient branch functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall branch operations and day-to-day activities of the transport/logistics branch.
- Supervise transportation operations, warehouse activities, vehicle deployment, trip planning, and delivery performance.
- Ensure timely vehicle placement, deliveries, POD collection, trip closure, and customer commitments.
- Manage and monitor drivers, operations staff, supervisors, and other branch employees.
- Monitor fleet utilization, vehicle availability, fuel/diesel consumption, maintenance, and operational expenses.
- Ensure effective cost control and operational efficiency while maintaining service quality.
- Manage customer relationships, understand customer requirements, resolve complaints, and handle operational escalations.
- Identify new business opportunities and support business development, customer acquisition, rate negotiation, and revenue growth.
- Monitor branch revenue, expenses, profitability, outstanding payments, and overall financial performance.
- Coordinate with Accounts/Credit Control teams for billing, collections, and customer outstanding.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, safety standards, and applicable government requirements.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate branch employees to achieve operational and business targets.
- Prepare and review daily/weekly/monthly MIS and management reports covering operations, revenue, expenses, fleet performance, and profitability.
- Coordinate with other branches, customers, vendors, and internal departments for smooth logistics operations.
- Take ownership of branch performance and ensure high customer satisfaction and timely service delivery.
- Achieve assigned business, revenue, operational, cost, and profitability targets.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in transport, logistics, fleet management, or supply chain operations.
- Prior experience in branch management or a senior logistics/transport operations role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations, fleet management, customer handling, and logistics processes.
- Good leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and team-management skills.
- Strong commercial and business development orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.
- Immediate joiners / short-notice candidates preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
