TEACH was established in 2016 as a non-profit organization. Our vision is to build an equitable ecosystem for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Our mission is to facilitate higher education for them that helps them lead their lives independently and successfully, and assisting them in their personal, professional, and social development.
We currently operate across three campuses in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, and our vibrant community comprises 400+ students. With extensive industry connections across 30+ employers and sustainability partner organizations, we follow a holistic outcome model. Our student programs cover the following three pillars: Higher education, Skills development, and Aptitude development.
Our programs for Corporates include Employee sensitization, Training sessions on Indian Sign Language (ISL) and interpretation, and Onboarding support.

Role Summary
● The teacher will be responsible for delivering academic instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
● They will be reporting to the section lead.
● The position is based at TEACH Pune campus and requires full-time, in-person engagement with students.
Responsibilities
Academic Planning and Student Learning
● Develop structured lesson plan, content and deliver lectures for Commerce subjects (Accountancy, Economics, Organisation of Commerce and Management (OCM) and Secretarial Practice (SP) and related subjects.
● Ensure timely completion of assigned curriculum.
● Create and update teacher materials like presentation, worksheets, notes and other resources aligned with the curriculum.
● Conduct regular assessments, assignments, revision sessions and examinations to evaluate student - understanding their academic progress.
Analyse student performance data and implement remedial strategies to support students requiring additional academic assistance.
● Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, syllabus completion and student progress.
Classroom Management and Student Engagement
● Create an inclusive, respectful and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
● Use innovative teaching approaches to make commerce concepts practical and relatable for the students.
● Collaborate with fellow educators to strengthen academic delivery.
● Collaborate with parents to understand challenges and create learning plans for students.
Education and Experience:
● Master’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
● 1-2 years of relevant work experience in teaching Commerce subjects.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
● Good verbal communication skills in English (with correct grammar) and good written communication skills in English (with correct punctuation and grammar). Proficient in verbal communication in Hindi and / or Marathi. Open to learn and build proficiency in Indian Sign Language.
● Warm and friendly demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to build meaningful trustworthy relationships
● Self-driven with high levels of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
● Good time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet agreed timelines
● Ability to influence through dialogue, and persuade others to right course of action
● Attention to detail and perseverance ● High emotional maturity with the ability to resolve conflicts through mediation and objective analyses
● Comfortable using Google Work Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Google Drive) or willingness to learn
● Ability to comply with agreed organizational standards, policies and processes
● Tolerance for ambiguity and comfort with change management (as this role will play a vital role in implementing new processes, as needed)
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
