About the Role
We are looking for a System Design Engineer with a strong mechanical design background to conceptualize, design, and develop laser-based machines and automation systems used in pharmaceutical, automotive, and industrial applications.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, production, and R&D to turn concepts into production-ready systems. Experience in SolidWorks/Inventor, machine design, and industrial automation is essential.
- Design laser-based machinery and automation systems using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks/Inventor).
- Create detailed 2D drawings with GD&T, BOMs, exploded views, and assembly documentation.
- Perform strength, motion, and thermal simulations where required using simulation tools.
- Select mechanical elements like bearings, gearboxes, couplings, actuators, and linear motion components.
- Generate design documentation: technical specs, calculations, revision history, and risk analysis reports.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and production teams for integrated system development.
- Apply design best practices: modularity, maintainability, manufacturability, and safety (CE/ISO compliance).
- Use ERP for BOM creation, version control, and engineering change management (ECN).
- Support in FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of machine designs.
- 3D CAD: SolidWorks (preferred), Autodesk Inventor, or Creo
- Simulation: SolidWorks Simulation / Ansys (for stress and motion analysis)
- Drafting & Detailing: AutoCAD, DraftSight
- Documentation: MS Office, Google Docs/Sheets, PDF Editors
- Version Control: PDM/PLM tools (SolidWorks PDM or similar)
- ERP: ERPNext or equivalent (for BOM & engineering records)
- Nice to Have: Exposure to Siemens NX, Fusion 360, Onshape, 3D Printing Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Production Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in custom machinery or automation systems.
- Strong grasp of machine kinematics, mechanical assemblies, tolerances, and thermal management.
- Understanding of safety standards (CE Marking, ISO 12100).
- Excellent technical documentation and verbal communication skills.
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Performance-linked incentives
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge laser automation technologies
- Flexible work environment and upskilling support
