About the Role
IDEA Foundation is a deep-tech organisation delivering AI, GIS, VR/XR, and geospatial solutions for defence and government clients. We are currently executing a multi-module AI programme integrated with SAP S/4HANA for a large government corporation in Navi Mumbai.
The core development team operates from Chandigarh/Panchkula. This role is the critical on-ground bridge between the client ecosystem in Navi Mumbai and the delivery team up north.
Role Summary
We are looking for a sharp, proactive Business Analyst who can operate independently at the client site in Navi Mumbai. You will be our eyes, ears, and voice on the ground — responsible for requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, SAP data understanding, documentation, and ensuring the delivery team has everything they need to build and ship on time.
This is NOT a passive documentation role. You will be actively shaping what gets built by translating complex SAP and government-domain knowledge into clear, actionable specs for an AI engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Elicitation & Analysis
- Conduct structured requirement workshops with client stakeholders, SAP consultants, and integration partners
- Elicit, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements across multiple AI modules
- Understand the client’s SAP landscape — relevant tables, CDS views, OData services, and data flows across FI/CO, MM, PM, QM, and CRM modules
- Map RFP/corrigendum requirements to solution design; flag scope gaps, ambiguities, and risks early
- Own the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensure every RFP line item is accounted for
2. On-Site Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) at the client site for all client-facing communication
- Coordinate with client department heads (Finance, Procurement, Citizen Services, IT) to gather domain inputs, sample data, and sign-offs
- Liaise daily with SAP consultants to track CDS view readiness, data availability, and integration dependencies
- Attend and drive client meetings; produce meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up trackers within 24 hours
- Manage expectations proactively — communicate delivery timelines, flag blockers, and escalate risks before they become issues
3. Documentation & Communication
- Produce BRDs (Business Requirements Documents), FRDs (Functional Requirements Documents), process flow diagrams, and data mapping documents
- Create SAP data dictionaries and field mapping documents that the AI/ML team can directly consume
- Document as-is and to-be process flows for each AI module
- Write clear, structured UAT test cases and acceptance criteria
- Maintain a living project knowledge base — decisions log, assumptions register, open items tracker
4. AI Project Understanding & Translation
- Understand AI/ML concepts at a working level: OCR/IDP pipelines, NLP/translation models, time-series forecasting, RAG-based chatbots, anomaly detection, scoring models
- Translate business requirements into AI-consumable specifications — e.g., define what a “performance score” means in terms of SAP data fields, weighting logic, and thresholds
- Work with the AI team to define training data requirements, evaluation metrics, and edge cases
- Support synthetic data generation efforts by providing domain context and validation rules
5. UAT & Go-Live Support
- Coordinate UAT cycles with client users — schedule sessions, collect feedback, triage bugs, and track resolution
- Facilitate user training sessions and create training materials (with support from the delivery team)
- Support production deployment validation and post-go-live stabilisation
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–6 years as a Business Analyst, preferably in enterprise IT / government / ERP projects
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA projects (understanding of FI/CO, MM, PM, or CRM modules)
- Strong understanding of data structures, SQL basics, and ability to read/interpret database schemas and API specifications
- Working knowledge of AI/ML project lifecycles — you don’t need to build models, but you must understand what data an ML model needs, what training means, what evaluation metrics are, and how AI integrates with enterprise systems
- Excellent documentation skills — BRDs, FRDs, process flows, data dictionaries; samples will be requested during interview
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in English; Hindi/Marathi is a strong plus for stakeholder interactions
- Experience with tools: Jira/Confluence (or equivalent), MS Office (advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Visio/draw.io/Lucidchart for process diagrams
- Comfortable working independently at a client site with minimal supervision; strong ownership mindset
Good-to-Have
- Prior experience on government/PSU projects (understanding of RFP processes, corrigenda, SLA-driven delivery)
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services (Azure Document Intelligence, Azure OpenAI, Blob Storage)
- Exposure to data governance / metadata management platforms (e.g., OpenMetadata, Apache Atlas, Collibra)
- Experience with IDP/OCR solutions, translation/NLP tools, or RAG-based AI applications
- Knowledge of Maharashtra government processes or urban development domain
- Marathi language proficiency (reading/writing) for document and stakeholder context
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra (Navi Mumbai, Thane District): Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
