We are looking for a Should Costing Engineer with expertise in manufacturing cost analysis and cost modelling for automotive components. The candidate will support sourcing decisions by developing accurate cost estimates and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare should-cost models for engineering components and assemblies.
* Perform cost breakdowns using manufacturing processes and machine rates.
* Analyze supplier quotations and validate commercial proposals.
* Recommend cost optimization opportunities through process improvements.
* Estimate cycle times, manufacturing methods, and tooling requirements.
* Read engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
* Generate detailed costing reports to support sourcing and negotiations.
* Use SAP/ERP and should-costing software such as aPriori, Costimator, or TcPCM.
Requirements:
* B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
* 6-10 years of experience in should costing within Automotive, Tractor, T&O, or Manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of sheet metal, plastics, rubber, machined parts, and assemblies.
* Experience with should-costing tools and ERP systems.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
