Job Summary:
A MIG Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques. The role involves reading technical drawings, preparing materials, operating MIG welding equipment, and producing high-quality welds while following safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Set up and adjust MIG welding machines according to job requirements.
- Prepare, clean, and position metal parts before welding.
- Inspect welds for quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
- Grind, finish, and repair welds as needed.
- Use measuring tools to ensure components meet specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of MIG welding techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with welding symbols and fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
