About the Role
Fiducia is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead – UK Accounting to manage UK accounting operations, lead a team of accounting professionals, and ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in UK bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, and team handling.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage end-to-end UK accounting and bookkeeping processes for multiple clients.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, journals, and bank reconciliations.
- Handle VAT returns and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations.
- Review accounting entries, ledgers, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support audit, compliance, and financial reporting requirements.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team to achieve operational goals.
- Allocate tasks, monitor team productivity, and ensure timely delivery of work.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance for team development.
- Maintain process quality standards and identify opportunities for operational improvement and automation.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting procedures, and client SLAs.
Client Coordination
- Coordinate with UK clients regarding accounting queries, reporting requirements, and issue resolution.
- Build strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive support.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and service quality.
Software & Systems
- Work extensively on accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Maintain accurate financial data and documentation within accounting systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B. Com / M. Com / MBA / CA-Inter or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in UK accounting and bookkeeping.
- Strong understanding of:
- UK accounting principles
- VAT regulations
- HMRC compliance requirements
- Management accounts preparation
- Prior experience in team handling or leadership role preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
- Good command of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with UK-based accounting firms or outsourced accounting companies.
- Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage team performance effectively.
- Professional qualification such as MBA (finance), CA Inter, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
