Job Description
Overview
We are hiring a Civil Engineer who enjoys the last, detail-intensive stage of construction: turning completed civil work into finished, usable rooms and spaces. Your main responsibility will be to take areas from “work in progress” to clean, tested and snag-free handover. This means being on site, checking details yourself, coordinating different trades and insisting on good workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage finishing works including tiling, flooring, painting, waterproofing, false ceiling, partitions, doors, sanitary fittings, and other architectural works.
- Monitor daily site progress, manpower, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and MEP teams for smooth execution.
- Ensure works are completed as per approved drawings, specifications, samples, and quality standards.
- Check line, level, alignment, dimensions, slopes, and overall workmanship.
- Coordinate plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire-fighting, and other MEP requirements before closing finishing works.
- Conduct room-wise inspections, snag identification, and defect closure.
- Ensure proper protection of completed works and minimize rework or damage.
- Review architectural drawings and identify site discrepancies or execution issues.
- Monitor material availability, usage, wastage, and site requirements.
- Verify work quantities and support measurement, BOQ, and contractor billing activities.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and provide updates to the Project Head/Management.
- Ensure proper site housekeeping, safety, and work discipline.
- Coordinate final inspections and ensure areas are ready for snag-free handover.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in building construction/finishing works.
- Strong hands-on experience in finishing execution and contractor management.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Hospital, institutional, commercial, hotel, or premium residential project experience will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, quality-control and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in a site-based environment
