Position Summary
The EY Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, stimulating, and positive classroom environment. The role involves assisting with lesson implementation, classroom management, student supervision, learning activities, and maintaining a caring atmosphere that encourages every child's development.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting daily classroom activities.
- Prepare and organize learning materials, teaching aids, and classroom resources.
- Support children during learning centres, group activities, and individual tasks.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.
Student Care & Supervision
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the school day.
- Assist children with daily routines, including arrival, departure, snack time, and restroom breaks.
- Encourage positive behaviour and good social habits.
- Provide individual attention to children who require additional support.
Learning Support
- Reinforce concepts taught by the Lead Teacher through guided activities.
- Encourage children's participation, creativity, and communication.
- Observe students' progress and share feedback with the Lead Teacher.
- Support inclusive learning practices for students with diverse learning needs.
Classroom Administration
- Assist in maintaining attendance records and classroom documentation.
- Help display student work and maintain classroom boards.
- Ensure learning materials are properly stored and readily available.
- Support school events, celebrations, exhibitions, and parent engagement activities.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Lead Teacher, Coordinator, and other staff members.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, and professional development initiatives.
- Uphold the school's policies, values, and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred).
- Prior experience working with young children is an added advantage.
- Freshers with a passion for early childhood education are encouraged to apply.
