Qualification
- Master of Social Work (MSW) – Medical & Psychiatric Social Work preferred
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) may be considered based on experience
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Freshers with strong communication and counseling skills may also be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychosocial assessment and counseling to patients and their families.
- Assist patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment plan, and available support services.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Guide patients regarding government healthcare schemes, insurance, financial assistance, and NGO support.
- Facilitate discharge planning and rehabilitation services for patients requiring long-term care.
- Support patients with emotional, psychological, and social concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient case records, documentation, and follow-up reports.
- Coordinate referrals to external agencies and community support organizations when required.
- Participate in patient education programs, awareness campaigns, and community outreach activities.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and ethical standards.
- Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during medical emergencies or bereavement situations.
