We are looking for a QA Manager who believes automation is a product feature, not an afterthought. You will build Invisia's quality infrastructure from the ground up — designing the test automation framework, integrating it into the CI/CD pipeline, and setting the standard for what 'ready to ship' means across the engineering team.
Quality is not the QA team's job alone — it is an engineering discipline. The person in this role will work to embed quality thinking across the entire engineering org, coaching developers on shift-left practices, making quality visible through metrics, and ensuring that Invisia's release cadence can increase without a corresponding increase in defects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Test Automation & Infrastructure
– Design, build, and own the test automation framework — unit, integration, end-to-end, and API tests — integrated into the CI/CD pipeline
– Define test coverage targets and track automation coverage as a living metric
– Build regression suites for all critical flows: search, booking, payments, user authentication, and notifications
– Own performance and load testing strategy for key endpoints and user journeys
Release Quality & Gating
– Define and enforce release gating criteria — what must pass before code can be promoted to production
– Own the escape rate metric; investigate root causes when defects reach production and close the gap
– Collaborate with the EM on release readiness assessments and go/no-go decisions
– Maintain and report QA metrics to engineering leadership on a regular cadence
Team & Culture
– Hire and manage a small QA team as the function grows
– Coach engineers on testability, test-driven development, and writing meaningful automated tests
– Establish documentation standards for test plans, test cases, and defect reporting
– Champion a 'quality first' culture without becoming a bottleneck to delivery speed
MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
– 6+ years of QA experience with a strong, demonstrable automation-first mindset
– Hands-on experience designing and implementing automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or equivalent
– Proven CI/CD integration experience — your test suites run on every PR, not just before release
– Experience defining and reporting on quality metrics: automation coverage, escape rate, test flakiness, build failure rates
– Strong understanding of testing at all levels — unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and exploratory
NICE-TO-HAVE
– Experience with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, k6, Locust)
– Background in QA for marketplace, booking, or fintech platforms
– Familiarity with contract testing frameworks (Pact or similar)
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
✓ Automated test coverage is above 70% for critical user journeys within 6 months
✓ Escape rate to production drops by at least 40% within the first two quarters
✓ Every PR triggers a meaningful automated test run — no manual regression required for standard releases
✓ Developers describe QA as an enabler, not a gatekeeper
✓ Release cycle time has decreased because quality confidence is higher
