Job Title: CAD Operator – Fire Protection
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated CAD Operator – Fire Protection to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will prepare, modify, and maintain fire protection system drawings for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role requires close coordination with fire protection engineers, multidisciplinary design teams, and project stakeholders to ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for fire protection systems, including:
- Automatic sprinkler systems
- Fire hydrant systems
- Hose reel systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Clean agent and gas suppression systems
- Foam fire protection systems
- Develop layout drawings, piping plans, sections, elevations, and installation details.
- Revise drawings based on engineering comments and client feedback.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable standards such as NFPA, FM Global, local fire codes, and project specifications.
- Maintain drawing registers and document control procedures.
- Support engineers during design development and project execution.
- Participate in CAD quality checks before drawing submission.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in fire protection drafting or MEP drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with Revit MEP/BIM is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems and piping layouts.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire protection design principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in industrial and commercial projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering calculations and specifications.
- Familiarity with project documentation and drawing management systems.
