Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or continuous process plant (e.g., chemical, refinery, or petrochemical).
Certifications: A valid Wireman or Electrician license is often mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on electrical panels, motors, pumps, agitators, and production machinery. Maintenance of PCC, IMCC, LTMR, MPRO, and control panels. Maintenance of transformers, breakers, switchgear, and protection systems.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose faults in high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) panels, Motor Control Centres (MCC), Power Control Centres (PCC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and control circuits. Handling of DOL starters, Star-Delta starters, HT & LT breakers.
Infrastructure: Install and service electrical wiring, conduit, lighting systems, and hazardous area (Ex-rated) equipment common in chemical environments.
Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of transformers, circuit breakers, and grounding systems to identify potential hazards.
Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to electrical safety standards, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and plant-specific safety norms.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, breakdown reports, and spare parts inventory.
Essential Skills
Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
Tools & Testing: Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, megohmmeters (Meggers), and thermal scanners.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to quickly identify and resolve electrical malfunctions.
