Job Summary
The Techno-Commercial Designer will be responsible for integrating creative design
with commercial and technical aspects of the garmenting business across domestic
and export markets. The role involves trend-driven product development, costing,
buyer coordination, and ensuring smooth execution from design concept to final
delivery while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Product Development
Research domestic and international fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and
silhouettes.
Develop seasonal collections based on market demand and buyer briefs.
Create design concepts, sketches, CADs, and detailed tech packs.
Coordinate with sampling teams to develop prototypes and fit samples.
2. Techno-Commercial Planning
Analyze design feasibility considering cost, fabric availability, and production
capability.
Prepare detailed cost sheets including fabric consumption, trims, and CMT
(Cut, Make, Trim).
Balance aesthetics with commercial viability to meet target pricing and
margins.
Work closely with sourcing teams for fabrics, trims, and accessories.
3. Buyer & Client Coordination
Interact with domestic and international buyers for design approvals and order
execution.
Understand client requirements and translate them into commercially viable
products.
Present collections, samples, and concepts to buyers.
Handle modifications and ensure timely approvals.
4. Production & Execution
Coordinate with production teams to ensure design accuracy during
manufacturing.
Monitor sampling, fittings, and bulk production processes.
Resolve technical issues related to garment construction and fit.
Ensure adherence to timelines and delivery schedules.
5. Quality & Compliance
Ensure garments meet required quality standards for domestic and export
markets.
Work with QA teams on fit, finishing, and packaging standards.
Ensure compliance with buyer specifications and export regulations.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain tech packs, BOM (Bill of Materials), and style files.
Prepare production and costing reports.
Coordinate with export teams for order documentation and shipment
readiness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in garment manufacturing, export house, or buying
office.
Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and production
processes.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
Strong knowledge of costing, sourcing, and merchandising.
Good communication skills for buyer and vendor interaction.
Understanding of domestic and international market trends.
Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with export houses handling US/EU markets.
Knowledge of export documentation and compliance standards.
Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
