Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of biogas and biomethanation plant projects. The role involves managing project schedules, budgets, engineering activities, procurement, construction, commissioning, and stakeholder coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while meeting technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the complete lifecycle of biogas and biomethanation plant projects from concept to commissioning.
- Develop project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocation plans, and budgets.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when required.
- Ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Technical Management
- Review process designs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and plant layouts.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
- Support technology selection and optimization of biogas production and biomethane upgrading systems.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Manage procurement activities for major equipment and services.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and participate in technical and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, inspections, and deliveries.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during project execution.
Construction & Site Management
- Supervise site construction activities and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation installation works.
- Conduct regular site reviews and progress meetings.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Commissioning & Start-Up
- Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and plant start-up activities.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of operational issues.
- Ensure successful handover of the plant to operations teams.
- Verify achievement of plant performance guarantees.
Financial & Contract Management
- Track project budgets, costs, and cash flow.
- Prepare project status reports and management presentations.
- Manage contract administration, change orders, and claims.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to minimize financial exposure.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and internal teams.
- Coordinate approvals, permits, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree or Project Management certification (PMP/PRINCE2) preferred.
- Training in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, or biogas technologies is desirable.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in industrial project management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy, waste-to-energy, or related process industries.
- Experience in EPC project execution and commissioning of process plants preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of anaerobic digestion, biogas generation, biomethane upgrading, and gas handling systems.
- Understanding of process engineering, utilities, piping, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with EPC contracts and project execution methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Project planning and scheduling.

Pay: ₹621,445.69 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
