Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and assets. The role includes monitoring premises, controlling access, responding to emergencies, enforcing security procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety and security policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol the premises to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches.
- Control entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles.
- Verify visitor identity and maintain visitor records.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular security inspections and patrols of the property.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, accidents, and incidents.
- Prepare daily security reports, incident reports, and shift handover records.
- Coordinate with local police, fire department, and emergency services when required.
- Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency exits are accessible and functional.
- Enforce company security policies, SOPs, and safety regulations.
- Investigate security incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Supervise security guards (if applicable) and ensure proper deployment.
- Assist during emergency evacuation and disaster management activities.
- Support audits related to security, safety, and statutory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferred).
- Certification in Security Management or Industrial Security is an advantage.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency response procedures.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in security operations, preferably in commercial buildings, corporate offices, malls, hospitals, or industrial facilities.
- Experience in handling CCTV systems, access control systems, and emergency response.
Required Skills
