Job Description – Freelance Biodiversity Consultant (Project-Based)

About the Role
Corpsustain Ventures is seeking an experienced Freelance Biodiversity Consultant to support Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) consulting assignments. The consultant will conduct biodiversity assessments, habitat evaluations, ecological studies, and prepare technical reports in line with national regulations and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct biodiversity baseline surveys and ecological assessments.
· Identify and assess flora, fauna, habitats, and sensitive ecological features.
· Prepare Biodiversity Assessment Reports and Biodiversity Management Plans (BMPs).
· Support Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA/EIA) studies.
· Develop habitat maps, biodiversity sensitivity maps, and ecological databases using inputs from GIS expert.
· Assess project impacts on biodiversity and recommend mitigation measures.
· Support compliance with IFC Performance Standard 6, World Bank ESF, and other applicable biodiversity requirements.
· Coordinate with project teams, clients, and field experts.
· Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
· Incorporate review comments and deliver outputs within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
· Master's/Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Biodiversity Conservation, or a related discipline.
· Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in biodiversity, ecology, or environmental consulting.
· Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial, mining, transmission, or linear projects is preferred.
· Knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and biodiversity mapping is desirable.
· Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
· Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
