Job Description
India’s leading natural gas company, invites applications from experienced professionals for the position of DCS Engineer to support Power Plant operations involving Boilers, PRDS, and Steam Turbine Generator Systems (STGS).
The role involves safe and efficient DCS panel operation, monitoring of critical plant parameters, and ensuring uninterrupted utility supply in line with GAIL’s operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor DCS systems for Boilers, PRDS, and STG units
Ensure safe start-up, shutdown, and load management of power plant systems
Handle commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting of boilers and turbines
Monitor steam generation, pressure, temperature, and turbine performance
Coordinate with field operators, maintenance, electrical & instrumentation teams
Ensure compliance with IBR regulations, SOPs, and safety norms
Maintain operational logs, shift reports, and incident documentation
Support energy efficiency and reliability improvement initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
For DCS Panel Operation – Boilers & PRDS
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Chemical / Electrical)
with BOE Certificate and a minimum 1 year post-BOE experience,
OR
Graduate Engineer with a minimum of 3 years commissioning/operation experience,
OR
Diploma Engineer with minimum of 6 years commissioning/operation experience
Experience must be in Boiler operation ≥ 80 TPH steam generation capacity at 60 Kg/cm² (g) working pressure.
For DCS Panel Operation – STGS
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Chemical / Electrical) with minimum 3 years of experience,
OR
Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 6 years experience
Experience must include commissioning/operation of Steam Turbine Generator (STG) ≥ 10 MW capacity.
Preferred Competencies
Hands-on experience with Power Plant DCS systems
Strong understanding of boiler-turbine interlocks & protection logic
Knowledge of PSU safety, compliance & documentation standards
Experience in continuous process plants
Willingness to work in rotational shifts
Work Environment
Large-scale utilities / captive power plants
High safety, compliance, and operational excellence standards
Exposure to PSU-level systems and processes
