Job Purpose
To ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of mechanical machinery and equipment in the Non-Food Division through preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment improvement and effective coordination with Production and other departments.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Mechanical Maintenance
- Maintain and monitor all mechanical machinery, equipment and utility systems in the plant.
- Attend mechanical breakdowns and ensure quick restoration of equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, blowers, valves, bearings, shafts, couplings and other mechanical systems.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Prepare and execute daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct regular inspection of machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Check lubrication, vibration, alignment, bearing condition and equipment performance.
- Maintain equipment history and preventive maintenance records.
- Ensure minimum breakdowns and maximum equipment availability.
3. Production Machinery Support
- Provide mechanical support to the Production Department.
- Attend machine breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Coordinate with Production and Electrical teams during equipment breakdowns.
- Ensure proper machine alignment, lubrication and operating condition.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
4. Utility Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain mechanical equipment associated with pumps, compressors, blowers, cooling systems, pipelines and other plant utilities.
- Ensure proper functioning of utility equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify abnormal operating conditions.
- Maintain utility equipment maintenance records.
5. Breakdown Analysis & RCA
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment safely.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major and repeated breakdowns.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor repeat breakdowns and take measures to eliminate recurring failures.
6. Installation & Projects
- Support installation, erection and commissioning of new machinery.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment specifications and layouts.
- Coordinate with machinery suppliers, OEMs and contractors.
- Ensure proper installation, alignment and commissioning of equipment.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure work is completed as per requirements.
7. Spare Parts Management
- Identify critical mechanical spare parts.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for timely availability of spares.
- Maintain minimum stock levels for critical items.
- Monitor spare consumption and replacement requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and identification of mechanical spares.
8. Fabrication & Modification
- Supervise mechanical fabrication and modification works.
- Prepare basic requirements for MS/SS structures, platforms, pipelines, supports, guards and machine modifications.
- Coordinate with fabricators and contractors.
- Ensure fabrication work meets required quality and safety standards.
9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe working practices during all mechanical maintenance activities.
- Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Permit-to-Work and confined-space procedures wherever applicable.
- Ensure proper machine guarding and safe operating conditions.
- Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
- Immediately report and rectify unsafe mechanical conditions.
10. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily mechanical maintenance reports.
- Maintain breakdown and preventive maintenance records.
- Maintain equipment history and inspection checklists.
- Prepare monthly maintenance reports.
- Record spare consumption and maintenance activities.
- Maintain machinery manuals, drawings and technical documents.
11. Team & Contractor Management
- Supervise Mechanical Technicians, Fitters and contract workers.
- Allocate daily maintenance activities.
- Monitor work completion and quality.
- Guide technicians in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure contractors follow company safety and maintenance procedures.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
