Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, loan portfolio accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, taxation, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements of an NBFC.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of NBFC accounting, RBI regulations, Ind-AS, GST, TDS, loan accounting, NPA classification, provisioning and financial reporting. RBI's current framework includes specific requirements around NBFC financial statements, asset classification, provisioning and Ind-AS/ECL for applicable NBFCs.
Key Responsibilities1. Loan & NBFC Accounting
- Maintain accurate accounting records for the company's loan portfolio.
- Record and monitor loan disbursements, repayments, interest income, processing fees and other charges.
- Ensure proper accounting of principal and interest components.
- Reconcile loan management system (LMS) balances with the general ledger.
- Monitor overdue accounts and assist in NPA/asset classification and provisioning as applicable.
- Review interest accruals and income recognition in accordance with applicable accounting and RBI requirements.
2. General Accounting & Reconciliation
- Maintain books of accounts and pass necessary journal entries.
- Perform bank, loan, vendor, customer and inter-company reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences.
- Review ledgers and ensure proper accounting of expenses, income, assets and liabilities.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
3. Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparation and finalization of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
- Prepare monthly MIS and management reports.
- Prepare schedules, supporting workings and disclosures required for financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
4. RBI & Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in preparation and filing of applicable RBI/NBFC regulatory returns.
- Maintain records and workings required for RBI reporting and inspections.
- Monitor compliance with applicable RBI directions relating to accounting, asset classification, provisioning and financial reporting.
- Coordinate with the compliance and finance teams for regulatory requirements.
5. GST & TDS
- Ensure timely and accurate GST and TDS accounting and compliance.
- Reconcile GST input/output balances with books and returns.
- Review TDS deductions and ensure timely deposit and filing of applicable TDS returns.
- Assist in handling GST/TDS notices and queries.
- Coordinate with tax consultants whenever required.
6. Audit & Finalization
- Coordinate with statutory, internal and tax auditors.
- Provide audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents and explanations.
- Assist in resolving audit observations.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records.
- Support year-end audit and financial statement finalization.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of NBFC accounting and loan accounting.
- Good understanding of RBI guidelines applicable to NBFCs.
- Knowledge of Ind-AS, particularly Ind-AS 109 where applicable.
- Understanding of NPA/asset classification and provisioning.
- Good knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Strong skills in bank and ledger reconciliation.
- Good knowledge of financial statement preparation and finalization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and financial reconciliations.
- Experience with Tally Prime, ERP, SAP, Zoho Books or other accounting/financial software will be preferred.
Educational Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com preferred.
- CA Inter / Semi-Qualified CA preferred.
- Qualified CA candidates may also be considered depending on the role and experience.
Experience
13–15 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably with an NBFC, lending company, financial services company, bank or similar organization.
Candidates should preferably have hands-on experience in loan accounting, reconciliations, RBI compliance, GST/TDS, financial reporting and audit coordination.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional who can independently manage accounting activities in a fast-paced NBFC environment, understands the loan lifecycle from disbursement to repayment/NPA, and can coordinate effectively with operations, credit, compliance, auditors and management.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
